From(NORTH)Elkins, WV
take US 250/219 south to Huttonsville, turn right onto Route 219 to Slatyfork
(approximately 25 miles). Go past turn to Snowshoe (Rt.#66)at Big
Springs (Susie's Sweet Shop/ Rabbit Hole and Ski Barn). The Morning
Glory Inn is 2 miles down on the left about 500 feet off 219.
From (EAST)D.C., Richmond and Virginia Beach.
From D.C. take 66 to 81 South to Rt.33 at Harrisonburg, take Rt.33 West out of Harrisonburg all the way to Rt.28 in West Virginia (from the Virginia/West Virginia stateline it is about 33 miles to Rt.28). Turn left/south on Rt.28 all the way to & through Greenbank WV and just past Greenbank turn right onto WV.Rt.66. Take Rt.66 through Cass and past two entrances of Snowhoe, Rt.66 will end at Rt.219. Turn left and we are two miles down on the left.
From Richmond and Virginia Beach take 64 West to 81 West and get off at exit #220 to take bypass around Staunton which will get you to Rt.250. Take Rt.250 West to Monterey,Va.(this is where you cross the Alleghenys and is the worst part of the drive). From Monterey turn south or left onto Rt#220 for four miles when you turn right onto Rt#84. Take 84 to stop sign at Rt#92 at Frost,WV and turn right onto Rt#92 for 12 miles when you will turn left onto WV Rt#66. At this point there is about 18 miles to go! Take Rt#66 through Cass and past both entrances to Snowshoe Resort. About 1/4 mile past the second entrance to Snowshoe Rt#66 will end at Rt# 219. Turn left and we are 2 miles down on the left.
From(SOUTH)Marlinton / Lewisburgh, WV ( exit I-64 in Lewisburgh) take
Route 219 north to Slatyfork (approximately 20 miles north of Marlinton).
The Morning Glory Inn is located on the right hand side of the
road 1-3/4 miles north of Sharp's store and post office. Should you get to Rt#66 go back 2 miles. |
