Cranberry Glades Botanical Area

The Cranberry Glades Botanical Area is a protected land space for bogs in West Virginia.

A bog is an area of ground that is spongy and consists largely of partially-decayed plant material known as peat.

These areas are mainly found in the northern parts of the country, but in acceptable conditions as these, it can happen in southern parts.

Large fields for sightseeing

Immediately, you’ll notice the large field area — 750 acres — of marsh. A wood structure gives the way you should go.

Walking off the path will destroy the vegetation, so stick to the path.
